Therapy vs. Life Coaching: Finding the Right Support for You
Sometimes we all need extra support—but the kind of support we need can look different depending on where we are in life. That’s why I offer both therapy and life coaching. While they may overlap in some ways, they have different focuses and intentions.

Therapy
Therapy is a space for healing and understanding. It’s especially helpful if you’re dealing with:
Anxiety, stress, or depression
Past trauma or painful experiences
Grief, loss, or major life transitions
Relationship struggles
In therapy, we gently explore your past and present to uncover patterns, process emotions, and create more ease and balance in your life. It’s about giving yourself the time and space to heal.
Life Coaching
Life coaching is a space for growth and forward movement. It’s a good fit if you want to:
Gain clarity about your goals and direction
Build confidence and motivation
Create structure and accountability
Step into the best version of yourself
Coaching focuses less on “why” and more on “what’s next.” It’s about tapping into your strengths and creating an actionable path toward the future you want.
Which One Is Right for You?
Choose therapy if you want to work through challenges, heal old wounds, and build coping tools for everyday life.
Choose life coaching if you’re ready to focus on goals, motivation, and creating new possibilities for your future.
Both paths can be powerful, and sometimes people choose to explore both at different points in their journey. When we connect, we’ll talk about what feels like the best fit for you right now. Email me at maureenmclaughlintherapy@gmail.com
