My Commitment to Equity, Justice, and Accessibility
As a therapist, I believe deeply in creating a world where compassion, equity, and justice guide our actions. My personal values and professional approach stand firmly against systemic injustices, including racism, classism, and economic inequality.
Why I Stand Against Trumpism and Capitalism: The policies and rhetoric of Trump and his administration magnified systemic racism, xenophobia, and the growing wealth disparity in America. These issues aren't just political—they directly harm the mental health and well-being of the most vulnerable members of our society.
Racism and Inequality: Research shows that systemic racism disproportionately impacts Black and Indigenous communities. For example, Black women hold 70% of master's degrees awarded to Black Americans, yet they continue to face significant barriers in pay equity, workplace treatment, and economic mobility.
Immigrant Contributions: In California, migrant workers are the backbone of our agriculture and economy. Without their labor, many of the resources we rely on daily would not exist. Despite this, they are often vilified and denied basic human rights.
Wealth Disparities: The top 1% of Americans now hold more wealth than the bottom 90% combined. Globally, this gap widens even further, with the richest billionaires controlling more wealth than the poorest half of the world’s population. This disparity fuels suffering and hopelessness, which I see reflected in the lives of many of my clients.
My Personal Journey and Why Accessibility Matters
I grew up surrounded by neurodivergent people, those who experienced homelessness, individuals reentering society after incarceration, and people who struggled with suicidal ideation. They are and were while alive, good people. They were just dealing with difficult circumstances. These experiences shaped my understanding of resilience, systemic injustice, and the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
Because of this, I offer therapy on a sliding scale to ensure that cost is not a barrier to accessing support. However, to balance accessibility with sustainability, my sliding-scale spots are limited, and only full-priced sessions are available when those spots are full.
Let’s Build a Better World Together
I believe in supporting clients in not just surviving but thriving. That means acknowledging and addressing the systemic barriers they face while fostering resilience, hope, and self-empowerment.
If you share these values and are seeking support from a therapist who prioritizes social justice, compassion, and accessibility, I’d love to connect.
