MY VALUES

Being a person is tough sometimes. For everyone! That’s why I value kindness above all else. We are all just doing our best to find our way in the world.  We have all been hurt, and we all make mistakes.

I really value people who can admit when they make a mistake and who look for ways to make improvements.

MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
I have experience with individual, couples, and family therapy in many environments including private practice settings and counseling centers. I have worked with children in the foster care system in both group homes and an elementary school. I have worked with developmentally disabled children and non-verbal, developmentally disabled senior citizens. I provided group and individual therapy as well as case management at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center with clients who had recently attempted suicide, were recently released from prison, or were homeless.

MY APPROACH
The heart of my approach is very strengths-based. The things people live through continuously amaze me. I have a strong personal trauma background, which I deal with in therapy through different somatic, transpersonal, and artistic means. As human beings, we store trauma deeply in the body, and there can’t be complete healing until those memories are released and processed through the nervous system. I also work very relationally, given that we are all a part of this world, this “human thing,” together.
